13th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Health (SCH) was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 08 October 2019 under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Prevention of the UAE.
The Meeting reviewed the progress reports on the establishment of Centre of Excellence for Vaccines and Biotechnology Products based in Bandung, Indonesia; operationalization of the OIC Medical Corps; and the establishment of the OIC Health Portal.
The SCH meeting stressed the need to raise public awareness about OIC contribution towards improvement of the situation of health in Member States and to increase efforts to mobilize governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders to participate in the implementation of OIC- SHPA.
In line with its Terms of Reference, the SCH considered and endorsed the draft agenda and programme of work of the forthcoming 7th session of ICHM due to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE from 15-17 December 2019.
